Symbolisms of the Advent Wreath and Candles

The white center candle represents Christ Jesus the light of the world.

The four candles each represents Hope (the Prophecy Candle), Peace (the Bethlehem Candle), Joy (the Shepherd’s Candle) and Love (the Angel’s Candle).

-The purple candles stands for royalty; for a King is to be born .

-The rose candle stands for joy of anticipation for the birth of our dear Lord Jesus Christ the Prince of Peace.

-The wreath itself symbolizes how God’s love for us is never changing, like the evergreen, that stays green all year. The circle shape symbolizes how God has no beginning and no end, just like a circle. He always has been, and He always will be.

Peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you,
